Madagascar ‘Id-Dinja tal-Annimali’ is a programme dedicated to animals especially to cats and dogs. The programme is going to be aired on ‘Smash TV’ every Wednesday from 19:30hrs to 20:30hrs, with a repeat on Saturday between 18:00hrs and 19:00hrs.

It is a television programme aimed to cater for the health of animals, grooming, food nutrition and most of all for the care and well being one should give to the pets held in our homes. The aim of the programme is to give more awareness about animals especially about animal sanctuaries in Malta and Gozo.

We will be discussing very interesting topics related to various subjects about animals prepared by experts in the field. In fact one of the sections is going to be about pet nutrition. An expert in the field will give detailed information about the best food nutrition one should give to his or her pet. It is very important to those persons who own a pet to know about the contents of the food one can buy in sachets, tins and bags and also fresh food prepared at home. Another interesting topic is going to be about grooming. We all know that grooming and hygiene are very important elements both for the pet or animal and even for the members of the family who live in the same household as the pet. So a professional groomer/s will speak about this topic in more detail. Members from the pets organizations in Malta and Gozo will speak about their organization and events held throughout the year. Various guests will be present together with different breeds of dogs and cats. It is very interesting to know about the different breeds which exist here on our islands. As stated in the introduction we are aiming to give the opportunity to all animal sanctuaries in Malta and Gozo to give information about their sanctuaries, events, helpers and all that they cater for so that people can get to know their needs and they can offer their help in some way or another. A vet will be one of the resident speakers where s/he will speak about the medical aspect with regards to animals. There are going to be features about operations and visits at the vet, which will surely be very interesting to the televiewers. A subject which is not known so well by many, International Cat and Dog Shows held on the island will be given a lot of importance since people who never visited a cat or a dog show will have the opportunity to watch part of these shows on telelvision. Other guests who have a relation or work with pets like foreign breeders and also cat show judges will be invited on the programme from time to time, so that televiewers get to know them and learn through their experiences.

The schedule for the programme is aimed to start in January and ends in June. Each programme will have duration of one hour. The televiewers can intervene by asking questions to the guests through smses and e-mails.

The programme is going to be produced by Kevin Charles Micallef and presented by Joanne Mifsud Micallef.
